Im Design vonChristophe Marchand

The Paravent, by Christophe Marchand, is a free-standing room divider composed of form-pressed felt slats. The precise shape of the pressed slats and the connection cord which has been threaded by hand reflect a blend of industrial production and manual labor. Offered in light grey and anthracite, it comes in two sizes: P130 (130 cm high) and the larger P180 (180 cm high). Besides its role as a flexible spatial divider, it offers dampening acoustic properties. Placed freely on the floor, it can be shaped into various formations, its soft surface suitable for all floor types without causing scratches.

MATERIALS

Fibers made of recycled plastic bottles are pressed into 12 mm thick sheets of massive felt. After the pressing, each slat is cut out by waterjet. In the last step of production, the slats are connected through the use of a 3 mm cord.
