The Paravent is a free-standing room divider composed of molded felt slats. Offered in light grey and anthracite, it comes in two sizes: 130 cm and 180 cm high. Besides its role as a flexible spatial divider, it offers dampening acoustic properties. Placed freely on the floor, it can be shaped into various formations, its soft surface is suitable for all floor types.
Christophe Marchand
Christophe Marchand was born in the year 1965. Before he began studying industrial design at the University of Design and Art in Zurich between 1987 and 1991, Marchand completed his apprenticeship as a cabinet maker. In the year 1993, Christophe Marchand opened the “Atelier for Product Development” in Zurich. He worked in numerous expositions for the Museum für Gestaltung in Zurich and taught at the ECAL Design University in Lausanne. Moreover, Christophe Marchand is a member of the design council of the Thonet GmbH in Germany.

MATERIALS
Fibers made of recycled plastic bottles are molded into 12 mm thick sheets of massive felt. From the molded sheet each slat is cut out by waterjet. In the last step of production, the slats are connected by hand through the use of a 3 mm cord, finished off with aluminium cord caps.
